Welcome to Heartstrings! 

My name is Robin Smith. I am a musician/educator residing in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I began teaching string instruments while growing up as a teenager in Florida and have seen first hand the tremendous difference string education can make in a person’s life. My teaching experiences range from first grade to my current position as a string instructor on the University level.  

As a double bassist, music has allowed me to tour and perform in orchestras and ensembles around the world. It was during my travels to Russia, China, and Africa that I became better acquainted with the needs of orphaned children and ultimately adopted my son from Russia.    

He brought me insight into what could be done to help children in similar situations around the world during their formative years. It is my goal that Heartstrings will share the joy of string music with children around the world while teaching them life skills that will help them throughout their lives.
